We are excited to announce the Restore Omaha Conference, Exhibition, and Tour November 5 and 6 at Mutual of Omaha Dome.
Restore Omaha offers current and potential owners of older properties an opportunity to learn from local and regional craftsmen how to restore, revive and preserve their structure. In addition, architects, engineers, contractors, designers, planners, facilities managers, building owners and preservationists can learn about the resources, skills and knowledge necessary to preserve and maintain this area’s heritage.
Keynote speaker is John Leeke, a contributing editor for The Old House Journal. A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Leeke conducts preservation workshops throughout the country through his company Historic Home Works (www.historichomeworks.com). Possible conference topics include: Lectures about 11 Rules of Old Home Renovations, What style is my house, How to Research the History of My House, the Nebraska LIED Main Street Program, Tax Incentives and Amendment One and HUD Residential and Commercial Properties. Plus hands-on workshops about: Plaster Repair, Wood Windows, Stone and Brick Cleaning and Repair, Wood Porch and Column Repair, Rewiring Historic Light Fixtures, Balustrades and Stairs, Repair and Restoration of Historic Tiles, Do’s and Don’ts of Painting Exterior Wood and Interior Paint and Stain Finishes.
The next day, a tour is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. highlighting current and completed preservation efforts in the Midtown area along with having the Ford Conservation Center open for tours.
The Exhibit Hall at Restore Omaha will be an exciting destination for our attendees as they gather information on the goods and services provided. We invite you to
participate as an exhibitor, with the opportunity to gain exposure to myriads of property owners eager to find information to help in their renovation efforts.
Housed under Mutual of Omaha’s Dome the Exhibit Hall is structured to ensure maximum participant flow. Participants will be encouraged to visit the Exhibit Hall at each break and during lunch. Each exhibitor will have the opportunity to meet attendees and gather names, addresses and phone numbers during the exhibit hours of 8 to 5 p.m. on November 5.
We also have several sponsorship opportunities available, from our Lunch Sponsorship to our Lecture and Break sponsorships. Booth space is limited to 50 spaces, so sign up quickly to guarantee your place at the event!
