List of neighborhood grants

  • Bemis Park Neighborhood Association, $5,000. Association recently completed neighborhood improvement master plan. Grant money will provide initial funding for a toddler playground area.
  • City Sprouts, $5,000. Demonstration garden at 40th and Hamilton Streets will be improved with handicapped-accessible pathways, raised beds, benches, trellises and lighting.
  • Deer Park Neighborhood Association, $2,310. Citizens patrol will get four hand-held radios.
  • Dundee Memorial Park Neighborhood Association, $2,040. Elmwood Park’s grotto area will get more plants and flowers.
  • Field Club Homeowner’s Association, $5,000. Historic reproduction light fixtures will be installed.
  • Ford Birthsite Neighborhood Association and Hanscom Park Neighborhood Association, $5,000 each. Northeast corner of Hanscom Park will be refurbished and a sidewalk will be relocated. Security issues with that area of the park will be addressed.
  • Gazeebo Hill Neighborhood Association, $760. Gazeebo Hill at 42nd Street and Sorensen Parkway will be landscaped.
  • Gifford Park Neighborhood Association, $5,000. New gateway entrance will be put at 33rd and California Streets.
  • Leavenworth Neighborhood Association, $2,500. Landscaping and perennial beds will be added near the stairway in Leavenworth Park, in conjunction with the Leavenworth Neighborhood Association Turner Boulevard Master Plan.
  • Maple Village Neighborhood Association, $3,980. An entrance at 97th and Maple Streets will get new lighting and will be cleaned up. Citizens patrol also will get two hand-held radios.
  • Miller Park Minne Lusa Neighborhood Association/Citizens Patrol, $1,271: Communication equipment will be upgraded for patrol.
  • Montclair West Neighborhood Association, $1,967. Radios and patrol hats will be purchased.
  • Old Market Business Association, $5,000. Planters and flowers will be added in the Old Market.
  • Old Market/Downtown Residential District, $1,200. Pilot project will fund dog waste receptacles.
  • Orchard Hill Neighborhood Association, $4,000. Orchard Hill green space will be enhanced with plant, mulch, compost and top soil.
  • Rambleridge Property Owners Association, $2,500. Main entrance to subdivision will be beautified.
  • Spring Lake Neighborhood Association, $2,721. Citizens patrol will be equipped with radios, signs and patrol hats.
  • Trendwood Neighborhood Association, $5,000. Phase two of playground equipment project for Trendwood Park will be completed .
  • Walnut Grove Homeowners Association, $5,000. Park benches and metal rules signs will be placed along the 11-mile walking trail. Safety sign will be placed in the Bryan Park playground area.
  • West Dodge Addition Association, $2,000. Two radios will be purchased.
  • Western Hills/Hidden Ranch Neighborhood Association, $5,000. An entrance sign, with landscaping, will designate the subdivision.
