This is a reposting from 2006. I’m disappointed that my favorite fish fry – Blessed Sacrament – is cancelled due to weather. I have heard that St. Barnabas Anglican church on 40th Street has a fish fry, so maybe I’ll give that a try tonight.

It is lent in predominantly Catholic Omaha. That means a large selection of Fish Fries every friday at parishes around the city. The character & menus of each fish fry is rooted in the ethnic background & history of the parish. The event is equal parts faithful observance and fundraising.
